Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Andile Consults Limited (“Andile Consults”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data through andileconsults.com, mainly the details you send us in an enquiry. We handle personal data in line with Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 and its regulations.
Who we are
Andile Consults Limited is a consulting firm based in Kampala, Uganda. We provide accounting, tax, administrative, recruitment, legal and dispute support, training and business advisory services to small businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofit organisations across East Africa.
We decide how and why the personal data described in this policy is used. You can reach us at info@andileconsults.com or on +256 701 346 979 or +256 781 466 182.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our website, we collect:
- your name and email address;
- your organisation and phone number, if you choose to give them;
- whatever you write in your message.
When you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we receive the details you share, such as your phone number and the content of your messages.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider and security software automatically record technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and when you requested them.
We do not ask for sensitive personal data through the website. Please do not include health information, national identification numbers or bank and card details in an enquiry.
How we use it
We use your personal data to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss the services you asked about;
- prepare a proposal or engagement if you decide to work with us;
- keep a record of our correspondence with you;
- keep the website secure and working, including blocking spam and suspicious activity;
- meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not add enquiry details to marketing lists. If we start a newsletter, we will send it only to people who sign up for it, and every issue will let you unsubscribe.
Why we are allowed to use it
We use personal data on one of these grounds:
- your consent, which you give when you send us your details and can withdraw at any time;
- to take steps you ask for before entering into an engagement with us, or to carry out that engagement;
- to comply with a legal obligation;
- where the law otherwise allows it, such as keeping our website secure.
Cookies and third-party services
Our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. WordPress, which runs our website, sets cookies only for the people who log in to manage it.
Some parts of the website load from, or link to, other services, which handle data under their own privacy policies:
- Google Fonts: our typeface loads from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
- jsDelivr: our icons load from the jsDelivr network, which receives the same technical details.
- WhatsApp: the chat button opens WhatsApp, and anything you send there is handled under WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
- LinkedIn and X: the share links on our articles take you to those platforms, which apply their own policies.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is seen only by the people at Andile Consults who need it to respond to you. We also rely on service providers that process data on our behalf, such as our website hosting and email providers, and they may use it only to provide those services to us.
We may disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example to a court, regulator or tax authority, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim. If you engage us, we share your information with others, such as advocates, auditors or authorities, only as your engagement requires.
Transfers outside Uganda
Some of our service providers may store or process data on servers outside Uganda. Where that happens, we use only providers in countries or under arrangements that protect personal data to a standard at least equivalent to Ugandan law, or we ask for your consent first.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond to you and follow up. If an enquiry does not lead to an engagement, we delete it within two years of our last contact with you.
If you become a client, we keep records for the length of the engagement and afterwards for as long as tax, accounting and other laws require. Technical and security logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
How we protect it
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Enquiries are stored in the website’s database, where only authorised people can see them, and the site runs security software that monitors for and blocks suspicious activity.
No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send confidential documents through the enquiry form. If we need sensitive information from you, we will agree a secure way to receive it.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal data about you, and request a copy of it;
- ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading;
- ask us to delete personal data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
- object to our use of your personal data, or ask us to stop using it for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did with it before.
To use any of these rights, email info@andileconsults.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time the law allows.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda.
Children
Our website and services are meant for businesses, organisations and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

We will update this policy when our website, our services or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
